How do I get access to TritonGPT?
Access the tool here: tritongpt.ucsd.edu
Faculty, students, and staff from Campus and Health Sciences currently have access through single sign-on (SSO).
Will UC San Diego Health staff have access to TritonGPT?
Access to TritonGPT is currently limited to faculty and staff within UC San Diego Campus and Health Sciences.
TritonGPT is not HIPAA compliant. UC San Diego Health System leadership has approved tools that meet UC San Diego’s rigorous standards for data protection and privacy as they relate to health-centric requirements, such as HIPAA. More information is available on this Pulse site (login required).
Where is TritonGPT hosted?
TritonGPT can use approved enterprise cloud models and open models hosted on UC-controlled infrastructure. The appropriate route depends on the service, data, capability, and approved controls.
Is the model trained on or affected by my queries?
The handling of prompts, outputs, and feedback follows the approved route and the TritonGPT privacy statement. Do not enter information that is not approved for the selected service.

What is Onyx?
Onyx is a company founded by two UC San Diego alumni, Yuhong Sun and Chris Weaver.
Its technology integrates large language models with UC San Diego – specific context, enabling TritonGPT to generate relevant, campus-aware responses.
If my team’s information is not in Blink, will it appear in TritonGPT?
The UC San Diego Assistant within TritonGPT primarily draws from Blink content to provide accurate guidance on staff processes and policies. Information outside of Blink will not automatically appear.
Can I request my department’s page to be added to the UC San Diego Assistant?
Yes. You may submit a Services and Support ticket using the “TritonGPT” service category to request that a page be indexed.
Priority is given to content that supports staff workflows. In some cases, creating a new, dedicated assistant may be more appropriate
I have an idea for a new AI assistant. How can I propose it?
Start with the Get Involved page and describe the workflow, owner, data, review point, and result you need. The TritonAI team will determine whether an existing service, a bounded pilot, or a new assistant is the right path and bring in the responsible campus partners.
