Platform and models
TritonGPT’s default model now runs on UC San Diego infrastructure, keeping routine campus AI traffic on UC-controlled hardware and adding capacity for periods of peak demand such as course scheduling. Version 4.6.6 also expands the evaluated model catalog and adds new ways to work with assistants, including Voice Mode and a coding sandbox. Read the September 8 release details.
Platform and models
UC Merced’s SCOUT assistant is in production beta, serving more than 100 faculty and staff users. SCOUT runs on the shared TritonAI platform and inherits the same hosting, model choice, and governance controls as the UC San Diego deployment. The expansion extends the platform’s multi-institution footprint alongside BearGPT at UC Berkeley, ANR AI at UC Agriculture and Natural Resources, and FredGPT at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Developer platform
The new Citizen Developer Guide helps staff, faculty, researchers, and developers identify recurring work, choose a supported delivery path, and set data and human-review boundaries before building.
Updated data-protection guidance explains that TritonGPT and TritonAI Harness may be used with information up to P3 only within an approved service or setup. P4 data is not approved.
Developer platform
UC San Diego faculty and staff can request access to the TritonAI Gateway, receive approved billing and usage limits, and install the TritonAI Harness on supported Mac or Windows computers. The TritonAI Harness is UC San Diego's primary supported Gateway client. Claude Code and Codex remain supported alternatives.

AI services
Two human-supervised TritonAI workflows are in production. Contract Review compares relevant language with approved positions and prepares findings and proposed redlines for a qualified reviewer. Transcript Matching compares incoming transcript documents with student records and routes uncertain cases to staff. Its published validation sample reported 99.86% accuracy across more than 3,700 records, with five errors. Data handling and model routes follow the controls approved for each production service.
AI services
Class Planner is in production, helping students generate and compare schedule alternatives from course meeting information, preferences, and unavailable times. Students remain responsible for checking current course details and availability before enrollment.
Developer platform
The TritonAI Harness pilot advanced its support for bounded, tool-using workflows through the common model gateway and reusable skills. Availability and supported capabilities are confirmed through the developer-access process.

The developer pilot added workflow capabilities and expanded the models evaluated through the gateway. Because the catalog and rates change, use the Model Hub for current availability, capabilities, and published rates.

Campus assistants
The UC San Diego Assistant is available in the official UC San Diego mobile app on iOS and Android. Students, faculty, and staff can ask about campus resources, parking availability, dining options, library information, and more from their phone. Powered by TritonGPT, the assistant delivers the same campus knowledge available on Blink and the TritonGPT web interface in a mobile experience.

The TritonGPT widget now provides live parking availability and current busyness levels at Geisel Library. The redesigned interface makes it easier to follow how the AI generates responses. System updates also improved performance and reliability.
