Certificate in AI for Higher Education

UC San Diego partners with the Digital Education Council to offer the Certificate in AI for Higher Education — a deeper dive into AI across higher education, with a stream built around your role. Many people move here from the TritonAI Discovery Series. Wherever you're starting, the certificate connects the tools you use to the bigger questions shaping AI in higher education globally.

TWO STREAMS

A path suited to your role

The course is organized into two streams, one each for staff and one for leaders.

Staff

TWO WAYS TO TAKE IT

On your own, or as a learning community.

Once you begin, you'll have 6 months (180 days) to complete the certificate. Each stream includes 20 hours of content: 16 hours of shared, foundational material plus 4 hours of specialization.

Work independently

Move through the course at your own pace, on your own schedule.

Learn together

Set up a learning community with your team or a cross-functional group and meet regularly to move through the course together. Communities can appoint one lead for the whole course, or rotate the lead so a different person heads up each section of chapters. Most learning communities take about three months to complete the course.
